We are excited to announce our first ever “Week of Lent”
What is Lent?
Lent is a 40-day season of fasting and prayer that begins on Ash Wednesday and ends at sundown on Holy Thursday (the eve of Good Friday).
It is a period of preparation to celebrate the Jesus’s resurrection at Easter, and is characterized by devotion to prayer, scripture, fasting, and giving. It is a season to prioritize self-control and the presence of God in our daily lives.
Ash Wednesday | Feb 14 | 11:30am - 1:30pm
What is Ash Wednesday? It is the first day of Lent, and marks the start of six weeks of preparation toward Easter, generally characterized by repentance and fasting. For a fasting example - go here.
This Ash Wednesday, Feb 14. Gathering Network Staff and Elders are hosting a drop-in-open-house at the Training Center for you to observe Ash Wednesday, and to receive prayer and the blessing of Ashes, from 11:30 am - 1:30 PM that day. Children are welcome.
Prayer Room | Feb 15-17
We are so excited to announce our very first Prayer Room experience to be held at the Training Center.
We feel such anticipation growing around this effort to prioritize the presence of God as a community in 2024.
The Prayer Room will be modeled after the 24/7 Prayer Movement who has given us the Lectio 365 app, and courses like the Prayer Course. It will be an interactive and artistic experience in the presence of God. GO HERE for more details about the Prayer Room and to sign up.
Night with God | Feb 17 | 7-9pm
The Prayer Room will end with our first Night with God of 2024.
Last year, every quarter, we began hosting simple evenings of worship and prayer called “Nights with God” to simply “hold space” to be with God in his presence.
We are aware, now more than ever, that the life Jesus calls us to in the Kingdom of God, is a life of attachment to God.
Nights with God are designed as special, set-apart evenings to enjoy the love of God and each other.
Nursing babies and Children 8+ are welcome to attend.
